Size Guide & Made-to-Measure
Understanding Our Sizes
Please note that the measurements in our standard size chart are for reference only. Actual garment measurements may vary slightly based on the design, fabric, and silhouette of each piece.
For a guaranteed perfect fit, we highly recommend our Made-to-Measure service, offered at no extra charge. This ensures your garment is crafted to your unique proportions from the very beginning.
How to Take Your Measurements for a Custom Fit
Don’t worry if you don’t have access to a professional tailor. You can accurately measure yourself at home using a flexible tape measure. (A string or ribbon measured with a straight ruler also works).
We require three basic measurements to customize your piece:
BUST
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, ensuring the tape is level all the way around your back.WAIST
Measure around the smallest part of your natural waistline.HIP
Measure around the fullest part of your hips, typically about 7-9 inches below your waist.
For a Precision Fit
You can choose to include additional measurements if you have specific concerns about fit. We are here to help! Feel free to contact us at website@lucianmatis.com, and our team will gladly guide you through taking any additional measurements to further perfect your garment.
Additional Fit Information & Seam Allowances
A key advantage of our made-to-measure process is that we alter the garment at the pattern stage. This allows us to build in generous seam allowances for final adjustments.
Your custom piece will be created with:
An additional 3/4” at each side seam
An additional 1” at the center back seam
This provides a total of up to 5 inches of extra room, allowing more than enough flexibility for any minor alterations required during your in-person fittings to achieve an impeccable final fit.
